Are You Ready to Step into Your Story?

What if I told you - you are the hero of your own life? These days, it feels like every celebrity has a memoir on the shelves. But you don’t need fame to have a meaningful story. For me, writing Wear Your Life Well: Lessons on the Journey to Your Truest Self didn’t happen overnight—it grew naturally from my journaling practice. When I first shared my stories, my hope was to remind others of the strength and love that await on the other side of life’s toughest challenges. Writing gave me peace and clarity, and I believe that stories, just like ours, can be powerful tools for healing.

And what continues to amaze me is the love and support I still receive from readers. It’s a beautiful reminder of the connection we all share through our stories.

Recently within the span of a year, my husband Scottie, was diagnosed with cancer, and I lost my beloved mother, Elise, and my father-in-law, Joe.These and other unexpected and unwelcome life events left me exhausted. Worn down. At my breaking point.I tried to stay strong and brave but I wasn't feeling it.

It's taken deep work to get my confidence back and I’m still a work in progress. My journey is one of lifelong healing, of coming home to myself and accepting the many layers of my life.

That’s why I’ve decided to start writing more essays about my life—the lessons, the turning points, the small moments that shift everything. Because our stories don’t stop. Every experience moves us forward, closer to who we’re meant to be. And I know that by sharing more of my own, I can help others feel less alone in theirs.

Today, my soul’s mission is to empower women in midlife to embrace their unique essence and recognize they are already enough. I want them to see themselves in a new light and step into their lives with renewed strength and confidence.

So here’s something to think about:

If you could sit down with the younger version of yourself—at any age—what would you tell her about who she is becoming? What wisdom would you share that she doesn’t yet know? Speak to her with mindful self-compassion, love, understanding and forgiveness.

When you look back on your journey, do you see yourself as the lead character? Or do you feel like you've been waiting in the wings, holding back, unsure when to step forward and claim your space? I don't want to jinx it, but day- by-day I'm making progress to becoming a more-confident-than-she-has-ever-been-before-woman. I want to remind you that your worth isn't measured in weight or years, but in the depth of your experience, wisdom, and the life you choose to create.

No matter where you are in your healing journey take a moment right now—just one minute—and think about a truth you might be holding you back from empowering yourself? What if journaling it could set you free by building inner strength. If you don't already journal, I urge you to try it.
